Full-stack Software Engineer
Edda International is recruiting experienced IT and digital professionals for assignments supporting European Commission projects in Brussels and Luxembourg. The position is delivered by Edda International under a service contract; the successful candidate will work with European Commission teams but will not be employed directly by the European Commission. The precise location and working arrangements will depend on the assignment.

The role
You will design, develop and maintain modern web applications supporting European Commission services. Working across front-end, back-end, APIs and data layers, you will deliver reliable features that meet functional, security, performance and usability requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end technologies and frameworks.
- Implement server-side business logic, data access and secure RESTful APIs.
- Apply secure-development practices covering validation, authentication, authorisation, storage, logging and monitoring.
- Write clean, maintainable and testable code, and preserve codebase integrity through effective version-control practices.
- Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshoot defects and validate changes across browsers and devices.
- Deploy and operate applications through CI/CD pipelines, containers and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with analysts, architects, designers and engineers, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Expertise
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with Angular, React or Vue; and experience with Java, Node.js or PHP back-end stacks, including frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate. Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle or MongoDB; OpenAPI/Swagger; Git; Docker/Kubernetes; AWS or Azure; and OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT.
What you bring
A collaborative engineer who learns quickly, connects front-end and back-end concerns and takes ownership of delivery. AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or an equivalent certification is advantageous.
Languages
Strong written and spoken English is required. French is an additional asset. The assignment requires effective collaboration in an international and multicultural environment.
