Business Analyst
Edda International is recruiting experienced IT and digital professionals for assignments supporting European Commission projects in Brussels and Luxembourg. The position is delivered by Edda International under a service contract; the successful candidate will work with European Commission teams but will not be employed directly by the European Commission. The precise location and working arrangements will depend on the assignment.

The role
You will connect business stakeholders and delivery teams, helping European Commission services translate strategic and operational needs into effective digital solutions. You will structure requirements, analyse processes and support validation throughout the solution lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse the business context, objectives, constraints and expected outcomes of digital initiatives.
- Elicit, validate, prioritise and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Map current and target processes, identify gaps and recommend practical improvements.
- Produce clear deliverables such as business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain requirements traceability and manage changes throughout design, development and testing.
- Support test-case definition and user acceptance testing to confirm that agreed needs have been met.
- Facilitate workshops and ensure shared understanding among business users, architects, developers and testers.
Expertise
Experience with structured analysis and modelling techniques, including BPMN, UML, use cases, user stories, state diagrams and entity-relationship models. Familiarity with BABOK or IEEE 29148, and with tools such as Jira, GitLab, Visio, Lucidchart, Confluence or SharePoint.
What you bring
An analytical, outcome-focused professional who synthesises complex information, adapts communication to different audiences and can contribute rapidly with limited supervision. CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, IIBA-AAC, CPRE or an equivalent certification is an advantage.
Languages
Strong written and spoken English is required. French is an additional asset. The assignment requires effective collaboration in an international and multicultural environment.
