Enterprise Architect

Edda International is recruiting experienced IT and digital professionals for assignments supporting European Commission projects in Brussels and Luxembourg. The position is delivered by Edda International under a service contract; the successful candidate will work with European Commission teams but will not be employed directly by the European Commission. The precise location and working arrangements will depend on the assignment.

The role

You will guide business and technology evolution across complex European Commission portfolios. The role connects strategy, capabilities, information systems and technology to coherent target architectures and roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop business, application, data and technology architecture models reflecting organisational strategy and goals.
  • Document current and target states and define transition roadmaps, dependencies, risks and investment priorities.
  • Assess initiatives against architecture, interoperability, security and data standards.
  • Lead or contribute to Architecture Review Boards and manage architecture exceptions and waivers.
  • Maintain principles, reference architectures, reusable patterns, standards and building blocks.
  • Use capability-based planning to optimise value, cost, risk and reuse, and recommend technology adoption or retirement decisions.

Expertise

Strong command of TOGAF and ArchiMate, supported by knowledge of BPMN, COBIT and ITIL governance practices. Experience with enterprise architecture platforms such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, BiZZdesign, LeanIX, MEGA HOPEX, Orbus iServer or ARIS.

What you bring

A strategic systems thinker who can simplify complex topics, influence senior stakeholders and turn vision into actionable roadmaps. TOGAF and ArchiMate certification, or equivalents, are required; COBIT and ITIL are assets.

Languages

Strong written and spoken English is required. French is an additional asset. The assignment requires effective collaboration in an international and multicultural environment.
